WHAT WE DO
No matter what design path you take we are committed to meeting both client oriented and site specific needs. This means that we value both the client’s goals and the true needs of the landscape equally allowing for greater harmony in form and function and real human and ecologically driven results.
Native Valley spends as much time listening to our clients as we do the land with an emphasis on communicating our findings clearly to our client’s in order to offer transparency and collaboration in the design process and ultimate vision.
Because Native Valley is a small company we are able to provide our clients with a great deal of attention and care. Every project is seen through to its completion and beyond with a consistent level of service.
WHY WE SHOULD WORK TOGETHER
If you feel inspired by and aligned with many of the following statements then we are likely a good fit.
You love strong, modern design aesthetics and are open to introducing new concepts into your landscape plans that support an ecologically rich environment.
Landscape restoration is important to you because it provides greater connection to the natural world, food and habitat for local species and supports a healthy watershed.
You support the use of local and recycled materials.
One on one attention is important to you in the design process and you are interested in forging a relationship that carries out your vision alongside the needs of the land.
You appreciate deadlines being met, your thoughts being heard and a collaborative design process.
HOW WE WORK
The Full Landscape Design Process requires several steps in order to gather information, execute creativity and deliver plans that are ready for construction. The follow steps outline this process.
SITE ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION
We start with a full site analysis and evaluation of the property to document site challenges and opportunities that aid the design process. Client input at this stage is crucial at this time to ensure there is a cohesive vision for the developed plan.
CONCEPT PLAN
A detailed Base Map is developed and a schematic plan that included Landscape Zones, Circulation, Hardscaping and Planting Schemes is developed and presented to you along with visual inspiration for reference.
HARDSCAPE PLAN
Once a direction has been approved of in the Concept Plan Phase the bones of your landscape will be drawn to scale with materials selection and details provided.
PLANTING PLAN
The planting design is then layered over the Hardscape Plan with full specs on plant species, varieties, sizes, water needs and detailed planting notes.
IRRIGATION AND LIGHTING PLANS
A detailed plan that covers all irrigation needs for the project along with WELO calculations can also be provided for an additional fee. This need is typically determined during the Design Proposal phase.
BID SET
Once your plans have been fully developed and finalized they can then be sent to Landscape Contractors to review and bid on. We will assist in this process by working directly with the Contractors to make sure they have all the information they need to properly estimate their bid for construction. Some elements in a Landscape Design Plan require outside professional services such as a Structural Engineer to design details for a Pergola. All aspects of a design in need of additional professional services will be identified and outsourced to the appropriate professional.
INSTALLATION
We assist in the coordination of your installation process along with your Landscape Contractor and sometimes General Contractor. Regular site visits are made during the construction phase to make sure plans are being followed correctly.
FOLLOW UP
After your new landscape has been installed we will make follow up visits during the first year to make sure the plantings are maturing well and the site in general is functioning as planned.
